Nigeria, shown to the left in white, is a beautiful country located in the central, western portion of the continent of Africa. It borders the Atlantic Ocean as well as the African countries of Benin, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon. Nigeria is in the same time zone as Great Britain. However, its seasons are the opposite of that of the United States, since it is situated in the Southern Hemisphere.

Although travel to Nigeria it is not highly recommended by the United States Department of State, many Americans and other  travelers have found Nigeria to be a wonderful place to visit. Despite coping with intense poverty and the resultant high crime rates, the overwhelming majority of the Nigerian people are exceptionally friendly and enjoy visitors from abroad.
